Tropical Storm Julia blew across portions of Central America over the weekend, bringing heavy rain, damaging winds. The storm made landfall as a Category 1 hurricane at Laguna de Perlas, Nicaragua, at 3:15 a.m. local time Sunday. By 11 a.m. it had weakened back to a tropical storm.
